About this program
The CEIP provides property-tax-based financing for solar energy and other clean energy improvements in 20+ Alberta municipalities. Homeowners can finance solar installations with competitive interest rates, repayment terms up to 25 years, and payments made through their property tax bill. The loan stays with the property if sold.
Eligibility requirements
- Must own property in a participating CEIP municipality
- Available in Calgary, Edmonton, Airdrie, Canmore, Lethbridge, and others
- Must install eligible clean energy improvements including solar PV
- Repayment through property tax bill (up to 25-year terms)
- Financing stays with the property if ownership changes
- Must meet municipal credit requirements
